The collection “HERSTORY HISTORY” deals with Balinese women and the Balinese perception of women. It draws a parallel to the western perception of women and women’s rights movements. Combining two cultures, the collection is intended to represent today’s status of women..
The collection takes the silhouette of the corset and transforms it into various shapes to show that the woman is still oppressed. The stitched torpedo shaped breast inserts want to draw attention to the oppression of women in the 50s. The collection refers to the power suits of the 80s.
